WHO WE ARE
Bowel Cancer Australia is a national charity with a vision to reduce incidence, death and suffering associated with bowel cancer through advocacy, awareness, education, support and research. Proudly 100% community funded, Bowel Cancer Australia is driven by a small core team of staff and volunteers.
WHAT WE DO
Bowel Cancer Australia works across a range of activities that help prevent, detect and manage bowel cancer, through: developing community awareness and education programs to increase knowledge about bowel cancer; encouraging participation in screening for the prevention and early detection of bowel cancer; providing a support network and services for people with bowel cancer, their families and carers; funding research into bowel cancer; advocating for access to high quality bowel cancer programs, services and treatments.
WHY WE DO IT
Bowel cancer is the second most common type of newly diagnosed cancer in Australia affecting both men and women almost equally and is Australia’s second biggest cancer killer after lung cancer. But the good news is that bowel cancer is preventable, treatable and beatable if detected early. Support Bowel Cancer Australia to help save lives and to improve the health and wellbeing of people living with bowel cancer.
